OUR STORY

In 2024, our founder Jacob began his mission to rescue women and children from human trafficking. His relentless drive to protect the innocent led him across the Pacific Ocean to Thailand, where he enrolled in an intensive child rescue course far from his home in Kentucky. There, in the heart of one of Southeast Asia’s most notorious red-light districts, Jacob stepped out of his comfort zone and into danger, determined to help rescue the exploited.

During that same course, Jacob met Sarah Fitzgerald, a fellow trainee and U.S. Marine Corps veteran whose courage and conviction matched his own. The two quickly forged a bond during long, sleepless nights of outreach and rescue operations, united by a shared vision to see the enslaved set free. Before parting ways at the end of the grueling ten-day training, they agreed to work together again in future rescue operations.

Upon returning home, Jacob recognized a critical obstacle facing rescue efforts worldwide: the financial strain on volunteers. Too many skilled rescuers were paying out-of-pocket for their own travel and operational expenses, limiting how often they could deploy. Determined to remove that barrier, Jacob selflessly founded Gideon’s Army, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering and funding volunteer rescue agents so they can focus on saving lives without hurting their own livelihoods.

Meanwhile, Sarah returned to her home state of Florida with a renewed purpose - to bring rescue operations to the United States, where the trafficking crisis remains urgent but often unseen. Finding that her affiliated NGO operated only overseas, she contacted Jacob to propose a formal partnership.

Together, they launched Gideon's Army’s Domestic Task Force, onboarding a team of trained, disciplined, and compassionate individuals committed to locating, rescuing, and supporting survivors of trafficking at home, here in the U.S.

What began as two young, determined rescuers answering a call to action has since grown into a large global network of international rescue agents, and a small team of highly specialized domestic rescue agents - all united by a single mission: To bring the sexually exploited to safety, and to restore hope and healing.
